1. Toll-free Hotline for Incident Assistance — 1-833-9AG-SAFE
A serious incident on your farm or ranch can be an emotional and overwhelming situation to navigate on your own. AgSafe Alberta is there for those who need support and guidance during a difficult or confusing time. Examples of serious incidents include, but are not limited to, a fatality, injury, property damage, or near miss.
Alberta farmers and ranchers can call AgSafe Alberta’s Hotline anytime to get answers about serious incidents. These calls can be anonymous, and all information is kept confidential. The Hotline is available 24/7, 365 days a year and callers will receive compassionate support and guidance from knowledgeable, experienced AgSafe Alberta team members.
2. Support from AgSafe Alberta Advisors
Our Advisors provide Alberta farms and ranches with safety services.
Planning for Safety – this includes resources to help you develop a safety management system on your farm or ranch:
Forms and templates – can be altered to meet the specific needs of your operation. We’ll help you get started with hazard assessments, emergency planning, and training.
eLearning modules – on-demand training that has been developed in various areas to support you and your workers.
Half-day and full-day workshops on safety planning are available in your community to help you understand and apply safety concepts.
Hazard Assessment – learn how to assess a specific task on your operation and identify key hazards to implement control measures.
Emergency Planning – understanding how to effectively prepare for, and respond to, an emergency can make the difference between life or death.
Training – what is competency and how do we regard it? Learn what training to conduct on your operation and how to keep useful records.
4. Safety Consultations
Our knowledgeable Advisors are available to visit your farm or ranch and walk you through the steps of building a farm safety management system and answer any questions you may have.
